Sarah

MEET SARAH THOMPSON, LCPC (She / Her)

Hey! I’m Sarah.

Who I Am

I’m a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Maryland. I work with kids, teens, young adults, and families. My experience spans a variety of settings: inpatient child units, trauma-focused outpatient clinics, and private practice. No matter the setting, what’s always mattered most to me is creating a space where you feel valued, respected, and genuinely seen.

My Approach

I approach therapy as a partnership. I bring empathy, curiosity, a bit of humor, and clinical insight, but I’m not the expert on your life, you are. My role is to offer support, perspective, and tools as we make sense of things together. I take a neuro- and gender-affirming, strengths-based, and trauma-informed approach that centers who you are, exactly as you are. I draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS), neurodivergent-affirming Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Play and Expressive Therapies, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), among others. My work is always tailored to the unique needs and goals of each client. I show up as a real person in the room with you, bringing my full humanness into the work. I’m here to walk alongside you as you find your way forward, at your pace, in your own way.

Who I Work With

I especially love working with neurodivergent (Autistic folks, ADHDers) and LGBTQIA+ community. As someone who’s a late-diagnosed ADHDer myself, I understand how often systems and traditional approaches can fall short. I work with people experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship struggles, work-life balance, and family stress. I also bring a flexible, creative lens to this work, one that celebrates difference, centers authenticity, and helps you build a more solid, compassionate relationship with yourself and others.

Therapy as a Process

I don’t see therapy as a way to “fix” you, because you’re not broken. It is a process of getting curious together, making sense of what’s felt confusing or heavy, and finding new ways to connect to yourself with more clarity and compassion. That process might involve talking, but not only that. Depending on what feels right for you, we might bring in art, play, music, parts work, or walk-and-talk therapy. There is no one-size-fits-all here, just a shared space to show up, explore, and grow in the ways that feel most true and helpful to you.

Ryan

MEET RYAN O’LEARY, LGPC (He / Him)

Hey, I’m Ryan.

Who I Am

I’m Ryan O’Leary, an LGPC (Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor) based in Maryland. My experience spans inpatient psychiatric units and outpatient private practice. I pride myself on my ability to connect with my clients, exploring and celebrating their interests, passions, and unique identities.

My Approach

Therapy with me is a collaboration. Connecting with my clients is my top priority, ensuring they feel safe and comfortable. I’m here to support, challenge, and help you explore new ways to grow. My approach is neuro-affirming, trauma-informed, and person-centered. I pull from Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I provide a tailored approach to each of my unique clients, working towards their goals.

Who I Work With

I specialize in working with neurodivergent individuals, children, teens, young adults, couples, and families. I offer all families I work with the opportunity for caregiver support sessions and family meetings when applicable. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationships, school, work, or family stress, I am here to help you through it!

Therapy, But Make It You

I believe therapy is more than just talking, it’s about being. I bring art, music, sports, gaming, and other creative outlets into sessions, meeting you where you are and incorporating your passions and interests. I want to highlight the passions and skills you already have and use them to connect, process and express. There’s no one size fits all approach to therapy. Each person is unique and multifaceted. In my office, you’re invited to show up as your full, authentic self: unfiltered, unapologetic, and free from judgment.
